1st). Balancing Budget: Put back the unaccounted Billions Stolen from Social Security during the Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Chaney & Bush Era, Suddenly, SS surplus will be back in place.
Once that is done, put legislation in place to make the SS Fund untouchable. It seems that every few years when the SS Fund is in order, the temptation of putting their hands in the cookie jar is too great for certain groups. (Guess the group).

2nd). Balancing the Budget: Get ALL Congressmen & Senators off of their Prima-Donna Benefits package. Let them fend for benefits like the rest of " U.S. " We would save BILLIONS!

3rd). Continue the "Get Tough" attitude with Corporations. It's funny how all of a sudden when the Gov't wants to regulate the Corps because they owe us Tarp money, Dollars appear out of left field and they eagerly want to repay the funds ASAP. The fear that they will leave is false. For every Corp that leaves five others are there to replace them.

4th). The "Stock Market" does not run the economy, "People" run the economy. Whether you agree with Previous President Clinton or not before the Bush disaster, this Philosophy proved extremely profitable for the "Majority" population of the U.S. also extending to the world. The Old regurgitated "Nixon" Philosophy that Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Chaney & Puppet Bush of running on a deficit, starting & continuing a "War Time" era, creating the Oil/Gas Shortage scare while catering to the 3% or "The Rich" proves detrimental in more ways than one to this country which we all collectively love so much.

5TH). The Current President has to grow some "Brass Ones" and start remembering the groups that put him in office. More specifically the younger generation who came out in droves to vote for him in 2008 despite the many "sudden" voting machine mishaps. (But that is another point of discussion all together). Unfortunately, the mass population of the U.S. act like "Sheep" and don't realize that they're in trouble unless someone clearly shows them or it is too late. President Reagan, was a master at communicating his ideas utilizing charts and graphs. President Clinton was a Master at the podium. The recently battered Republicans learned from this and through the Tea Party Grassroots Campaigns, are using "Fear" tied with "Hopes and Dreams" to keep the masses at bay similar to the Pied Piper piping the flute while dancing and distracting the mice.

For the record, I try not to align myself with any particular party. Rather, I am keenly in tune with History and Current events. As I get older, I gradually get disgusted with the rampant abuse revived and amplified by the past  administration.

As a free American, you don't have to agree with me. Just take a minute and reach out to your newly elected Congressman or Senator. Keep them Honest & Ask the GOP "Tea Party" Freshman exactly what detailed earmarks they will cut. Then, also ask them if they are willing to vote and give up the rich benefit packages that they have recently acquired to a more modest package, similar to that, if any, that the majority of U.S.(Middle Class)are subjected to, because of the continued focus on catering to Corporations and the top 3% of the population. In amazement, watch as they suddenly become Salsa Dancers around your question, avoiding any details which would subject them to joining in with the masses (Majority of the population) as many Americans continue the Tangible and psychological suffering while walking on daily Financial eggshells thanks to Ex-President Bush and Friends.

Best Wishes for us all.

I agree with a lot of that.

However, Bush is not the one that caused all of this. Granted he did make some mistakes, as does every president. But at least he did not print money causing inflation. He did a lot more good than bad. < In most cases >

RE: Economy Thoughts 2011
You have all made some valid points and some that are debatable.

Yes Bush, like Obama, was/is a puppet and catered to the rich. They first question to ask is why?  It is simple they need the money to finance their campaigns.

If you expect change in government, you as an individual must band with others and demand it, a politician is in the business of politics.

I am John Blalock of Blalock Campaign where we hope to offer a choice.  When you vote it should be for someone that represents what you want not the lessor of two evils.

The Bushes may have started us down the path of war but Obama has continued leading along the same path.

Do you support the Health Care Reform? With the known and hidden cost that would have killed any chance of re-election I fully understand the choice to not enact during the first term.  If it is truly sound why make people that need it wait years?

The bottom line is no one in office is going to give up the facts that sheds light on their own stupidity.

If you would like to know what I stand for and believe visit blalockcampaign.com.    Thank You for your time.

RE: Economy Thoughts 2011
Let's get real ... What I see posted here is basically the same sock puppet yammering that goes on ... and on and on!

To fix this MESS - we need politicians who have the tenacity to stand out and say NO!

FIRST THING WHICH MUST STOP - is JUST US!

Look at ObamaCare (how retarded!)

what good is it to ALL PEOPLE if companies can get waivers?

How JUST is it if politicians can be excluded from the bovine droppings they are forcing us to accept?

AND ... how clueless are the DC political monkey's to think that they could change much once it was past as a bill?

So ... what?  American is now more of a third world mentality since they destroyed our business leadership and gave us a universal health care in its place - and so many of you are thrilled with this? WHY?

Don't you see? Status Quo is the end of being a world leader.

Had it been my choice this is what I would have done:

1 - Changed four things associated with the Insurance Industry

    1) Allow parents on the kids group insurance (most offspring have several siblings ... if 3 siblings each put the 2 parents on their own policies - the cost of the parents could be split among the several policies - which takes the full impact of one group - which distributes the cost

   2) Make insurance Cafateria Style. This way the poorer people can at least afford to cover the basic IN CASE OF EMERGENCY things like a broken arm from a skateboard accident or an apendicitis removal and NO sniffles and colds type things

  3) For those who want the extreme coverage ... like over a week in ICU or more than ONE cancer treatment ... that should be extra.

  4) Allow Insurance competition across state lines - if our food can  cross state lines why not our insurance?

IF IT IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR US - Politicians should ALSO have the SAME coverage - after all OUR TAXES are their paycheck.

... this post could go ON AND ON ... but for now ... I will wait!
