Kambiz Mostofi For Los Angeles City Council

Rating:

forum imageKambiz Mostofi, an education activist and entrepreneur that graduated with Honors with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, has officially announced his candidacy for Los Angeles City Council District 15 representing San Pedro, Wilmington, Harbor City, and parts of Watts. Kambiz is running on a platform of job creation through providing export only companies lower customs tarrifs for the raw materials and parts they import, protecting education by stopping academic budget cuts, and revitalizing the neglected areas of the South Bay. Kambiz said "Los Angeles has a budget deficit that is hundreds of millions of dollars. I want to bring public accountability by reducing public waste and using the money Los Angeles saves to re-invest inthe creation of a Free Trade Zone (FTZ) in Los Angeles for manufacturing companies that exportthe majority of the products they produce. This Los Angeles Free Trade Zone would provide zero customs tarrifs or substantially reduced customs tarrifs for companies that export the majority of their produced goods. This would attract companies to Los Angeles and would create tens of thousands of jobs." The election for Los Angeles City Council District 15 will be held on November 8th, 2011 with the runoff election in January 2012.www.VoteMostofi.com
